Kudroli Temple

The Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, otherwise known as Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, is in the Kudroli area of Mangalore in Karnataka, India. It was consecrated by Narayana Guru. It is dedicated to Gokarnanatha, a Hindu deity also known as Shiva. Compared to the other temples in and around Mangalore this temple was built recently.

St. Aloysious Church

St Aloysius Church is well placed in the campus of St Aloysius College in the center of Mangalore city. The chapel, built in 1885 by Rev Father Joseph Willy, intimately matches the world renowned Sistine Chapel at Rome. The chapel is spectacular with some magnificent paintings on the ceiling, fresco painting and oil canvas paintings. The stunning paintings drawn during the early years of 20th century were by an Italian painter named Br Anthony Moschemi. The ceiling is decorated with paintings including the portraits of the Crowing of the Cock and many saints. It is good tourist destination, main attraction being the paintings.

A cruise ship or cruise liner is a passenger ship used for pleasure voyages, where the voyage itself and the ship's amenities are a part of the experience, as well as the different destinations along the way. Transportation is not the prime purpose, as cruise ships operate mostly on routes that return passengers to their originating port, so the ports of call are usually in a specified region of a continent. There are even "cruises to nowhere" or "nowhere voyages" where the ship makes 2-3 day round trips without any ports of call.

Savirakambada Basadi (Thousand Pillars Temple)

Savirakambada Basadi (Thousand Pillars Temple) built in AD 1462 Basadi of 1000 pillars, famous for its stone sculpture. Mahadwar, Bhairadevi, Chitradevi, Namaskaara, Teerthankara and Garbhagruha are the 8 Mantapas here. The idol (8ft high) of Chandranatha is established in the garbha gruha. Supaarshwa and Chandraprabha Theerthankara idols are worth visiting. Navanaari kuinjara , a sculptural art piece that appears like an Elephant but nine dancers is the famous art in this Basadi. It is said that no two pillars are identical.

Gomateshwara Temple Karkala

Karkala situated about 35 kms. from Udupi, is the headquarters of the Karkala Taluk. About, 52 kms. north-east of Mangalore, is known primarily for the statue of Lord Bahubali (Gomateshwara). The 45-feet tall statue is estimated to weigh 80 tons. Besides its colossal size, the Karkala statue is rendered more striking by its situation on the top of a huge granite rock, 300 feet high, on the verge of a picturesque little lake.
